Couldn't put it down
The Marriage Portrait, by Maggie O'Farrell, is awesome. Her balance of historical fact with creativity is engaging, and then so well explained in the notes. I also love the narrator, Genevieve Gaunt, who transported me straight to Italy with her fantastic accent! While the foreshadowing may be obvious to those of us who have studied History and English, to most I bet it's a welcome surprise keeping you hooked past the ending!
